The Belsfield Hotel
Got to the hotel early, registered the car in reception, straight away given our 2 cruise tickets and 2 drinks vouchers. Later returned to the hotel and checked in.The process was very smooth and staff helpful. Enjoyed the views and gardens well kept. The breakfast and evening meal good choice and very nice. Overall the staff were very polite and helpful.Good enjoyable stay.
Lakeside Break
Our 2 nights spent at the Belfield in May were most enjoyable! Lovely views of Windermere, comfortable room and restaurant food excellent! Very central for touring around the area and lovely gardens to sit and enjoy the surroundings. All in all a very pleasant stay!

We had a wonderful stay food expensive but good. Had 3 nights. The down side as pensioners we were kept awake half the night on the last night by a family. It did spoil it, the children screaming till 11 then water sounded like bath water running on & off! until at least 1am. The night manager spoke to them but they ignored him water running on & off was not funny as was so loud...
So we will stay again But not next to a family room. Manager Jake was very good offered a free afternoon tea or pay our bar bill but we paid cash so gave us a bottle of wine, as we were leaving after breakfast no afternoon tea possible.
Sadly we were both tired out the next day despite that it was lovely & the location was perfect ...
Super location
Friendly staff Tiny old fashioned lift with two gates to draw across, not a drawback - it reminded me of my youth!
Weekend Away
The hotel reception and rooms were first class. The location was perfect, just swerve the restaurant unless you have limited time. On both occasion the service was atrocious, we waited over 30 minutes on both occasions to be served.
Could do better
This hotel has a prime opportunity to be excellent but they either don t have the staff or the money to make it so. You can see the furnishings have been very nice in their day but now starting to fall apart and look tired;the overall cleanliness is OK but things are being missed e.g dead flies on the windowsill of the dining room and I had to ask for them to be removed, contrast that with the excellent view of the lake which I had whilst eating breakfast. On another note the evening meal was poor, ordered fish cake, it was a huge potato cake with hardly a trace of any fish. The hotel must be struggling to get staff as the outdoor tables were left uncleared with dirty plates and glasses and this attracted birds, also all of the bedroom windows have bird mess on them and the general appearance of the building is that of being unkempt ie you can see things need cleaned or painted. It s a shame as I am sure the staff are working hard but they are either overworked or inexperienced and the whole experience of the hotel is could do better. I was disappointed with the hotel as it is not cheap but neither is it value for money
