Relaxing trip

BM, stayed: June 2021

We thoroughly enjoyed our short trip to the Belsfield. It is in such a gorgeous position overlooking the bay. Super views and so close to the boats. You really don't need to go anywhere else

Lovely honeymoon hotel

Tracy C, Gloucestershire, stayed: June 2021

We stayed for 2 nights in a lake view room that was spotlessly clean & had a lake view. Due to Covid restricting the menus was limited which we were only told about 2 deys before the stay, this was very disappointing as we were looking fine dining. The service was ok in the restaurant , our waiter couldn t pour wine properly & spilled red wine over the table , was a bit frantic in there on one night as there was a wedding going on and staff were stretched (Seems to be the case everywhere though, as had the same thing in another hotel).
On arrival we asked for our pre ordered champagne to be served in the garden , we were told it was in our room but we had arrived before check in time. After asking some one else it was brought to us.
We asked if we could order food in the garden & told no as there was a wedding going on & staff were busy serving! Again , after querying this we were told we could order but had to sit inside!
The next day guests were being served food outside ?
The bar area is very nice & Taylor makes the most amazing cocktails . Please note that you are given a basic wine list (we didn t fancy any of these), we then discovered on day 2 that there was another longer list/ you need to ask for it! A few staff were not wearing masks , one had an exemption lanyard but the others didn t ? One member of staff constantly wore his under his nose. At the time of our stay there was a restricted wedding with under 30 guests, it seems they were also exempt from wearing masks or any other rules as they were going to the bar for drinks with no masks (we were told table service only) , all dancing & not distancing. A bit of a sting when we did none of this at our wedding. The hotel were turning a blind eye & short staffed. On the whole it s a beautiful hotel , but we ve stayed at the Shangrila at the Shard for the same money where the service was far, far better. I would return but only if the rooms were on offer.

Lovely stay in beautiful location

Anon, stayed: June 2021

Great hotel in stunning location. We stayed in a lovely room overlooking the lake. The hotel had only been open a month since lockdown. Not all services were available during our stay but the staff worked really hard to look after us. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Even the reduced Dinner Menu is worth trying!

Anon, stayed: June 2021

Despite Covid restrictions, the Belsfield made life as normal as possible. It looked at felt like a fully-running enterprise, with bar and restaurant comfortably full. Because of Covid, we had a reduced dinner menu, but it was still pretty good, and we look forward to returning to try the full menu sometime in the future.
And if you don't like sitting in Lake District traffic, there are lots of walks of varying degrees of difficulty from the hotel door, and a bus service from the town centre.

Calm oasis away from the Bowness throngs

Peter M, West Yorkshire, stayed: June 2021

At the time of our visit, Bowness was extremely busy but the Belsfield remained a haven of quiet. Covid restrictions were well-managed and the staff were extremely efficient and friendly. Wonderful views over Bowness and some extraordinary sunsets to enjoy in the evening.

Excellent location and a very good hotel

Anon, stayed: June 2021

Excellent location , helpful staff, the meals and acommodation were very good, unfortunately the menus were restricted when we were there due to covid, but they were still good served by helpful staff. We were lucky enough to have a lakeside view which was really breathtaking. The really good weather we had helped a lot, but the overall experience we had because of the hotel, was second to none.
