A little bit of bliss

We went for a walking trip to get to know the lakes a little ready for a bigger trip.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The location couldn t be more central. The cleanliness was great and the food and drinks delicious.

High expectations . . .

My expectations for this hotel fell a little flat. I don't think that hospitality venues should be using Covid as an excuse for poor service, lack of staff etc. Covid is here to stay and organisations should know this by now and respond accordingly. Our stay was lovely no doubt about that, but because of our activities during the day.

The main disappointment was the 'cold' welcome we received from the check in staff, who were scarce to say the least - we had to wait 10-12 minutes before it was even acknowledged that we had arrived as there was no reception staff at the check in desks at all? The staff in the restaurant and bar were excellent, but it was obvious, particularly on the first morning, that they were short of staff, this improved on the second and third mornings. I don't think the hotel is luxurious because it doesn't have any additional facilities such as pool, spa etc. The location is lovely and view of the lake is beautiful from the terrace area of the hotel, we also had a lake view room. I would add that there was a problem with gulls or pigeon activity on the roof area above our room. This caused some disturbance and woke me at night.

Excellent customer service

Stayed for 2 nights and room exceeded expectations as we booked very last minute and were very limited in choice of hotels. We expected a fairly mediocre room and although at the back it was roomy, clean and a larger than average bathroom. The one overriding theme of this hotel in every review is the friendliness of the staff. The welcoming hello from every single member of staff, wherever they worked, was quite noticeable. There was a complaint at the next table over dinner and the response, attitude and solution offered by the waiter was, in my opinion, exceptional.
It was a little pricey but then everything is at the moment in this staycation world we live in.

Very wonderful locations with friendly and helpful staff!

My daughter and I stayed here for two nights and very relaxing. An excellent places for parking and going out.

Great hotel in a brilliant location

Great hotel in a brilliant location. We really appreciated our Lake Windermere facing room that was spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was not yet serving Fine Dining menu but the food was good with a range of dishes and cuisine. The wines available had a great range and budget to special occasions, such as our anniversary or just enjoying our meal after a great day out. Proximity to both Bowness-On-Windermere boat pier and local amenities denied the need of a car whilst good for access to other attractions. We walked to the Jetty Museums and had a great day on the heritage boats and a gem of a museum. We ll certainly be back once the Fine Dining menu is reinstated as it s a great hotel in a brilliant location.
