Had a nice stay
Had a nice stay ,. dinner in the restaurant the room was rather

Excellent hotel, wonderful area
The Belsfield hotel is very impressive both inside and out. Every member of staff we spoke to was very friendly and helpful and this made our stay very special. Our visit to the restaurant was on our first night and we found the meal wonderful. Our room was very big and had everything you needed, we really didn't expect such a large room. We have stayed here previously and did not have all this luxury last time. Thankyou very much!! We had vouchers for free drinks and also money towards our meal on our first night. We also had a free cruise on Windermere. All this was included when we booked here via Off Peak Luxury. We will definitely be staying here again and also booking through Off Peak Luxury. Thankyou for making our stay so memorable. We will be back !!
Relaxing Break
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed yet another relaxing break away at The Belsfield. All the staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The staff gave us time to enjoy ourselves however we chose and yet were always on hand to ensure we had everything we wanted. Excellent, homely service so please don t change too much in the future as these are qualities which matter most and ensure that we, like so many others, keep coming back to stay at the beautiful Belsfield. Many thanks from Sue and Steve Dainty.
Present for christmas/ valentine s day.
Helpful, friendly, welcoming staff. Very clean. Delicious food. In a beautiful location.
Poor Dining Experience
Only had fifteen covers so harder t manage well in my experience. Limited menu but 25% of courses not available. Most astounding was when we asked for mustard to garnish steaks we were told they didn t have any !!!
A basic cafe always has a jar of Coleman s around , embarrassing
Drink service slow too.
The hotel is otherwise excellent and when they get to spring hopefully the restaurant picks up. The hotel was full but very few people used the restaurant.mThey clearly were more prescient than us
Drop in Standards
We have stayed at this hotel on many occasions and had the pleasure of having our daughters wedding here as well
However, we were so disappointed in the drop of standards since our last visit.
Bar - selection of wine choice was extremely poor and the wines that were available were poor quality
Room - walls were dusty, grout in bathroom was black with mildew ,sink was cracked, radiators top were missing. Paint was peeling off the wall
Restaurant - the food quality was very good and service however the value has diminished. I would not expect to pay 40 for a steak and then pay for chips as an addition. Breakfast selection was diminished to bare minimum with cereal selection of only a few choices, with no bran options at all and cooked option was very very small. Nothing like it used to be
One Night Stay
The hotel is in a superb location overlooking Bowness pier and with easy walking access to the pier through the manicured gardens.
Unfortunately the hotel and our bedroom was looking pretty tired with peeling paintwork and stained, shabby carpets in places. The view from our room was of rooftops at the rear of the hotel. It's a shame that we weren't given a free upgrade as there were many unoccupied rooms that night. On checking in we were shown to the lift by a male member of staff but there was no offer of assistance with our luggage. The complementary boat trip was lovely and was very much appreciated. The complementary glass of wine on arrival, quite the opposite. I have enjoyed a glass of wine in various levels of establishments over the last 50 years but this was the worst ever. It was undrinkable. The restaurant meal in the evening was very nice with attentive service but lacked atmosphere due to there being only one other couple dining at the time. For many years I have wanted to stay at the Belsfield and overall the experience was OK but I would be in no hurry to return.
The Belsfield is excellent
Our two day stay couldn t have been better. The restaurant food is special. The staff were friendly and obliging, particularly the guy who welcomed us as we arrived (23-25 February) he was also very helpful with the parking situation on the Saturday evening and found us a place to park as the car park was full. The view over the lake from the restaurant and some of the lounges is amazing!
