A Hidden Gem

A fantastic hotel, small enough to give personal service but with an outstanding location on the shores of Windermere and top class restaurant facilities. Ever member of staff was welcoming friendly and attentive . Rooms were very clean and comfortable, ours had a lovely view of the lake. With such a secluded, peaceful location and excellent accommodation, this hotel is a hidden gem which we will look forward to booking again.

We had a great stay at Merewood. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was fantastic. Lovely clean, very comfortable rooms. Highly recommended.

Couldn t recommend this place enough!

If you are looking to stay on Windermere, you should 100% stay here. Whilst our room was snug, the view more than made up for it. The staff are wonderful and so helpful. In the evenings you can walk down from the hotel and into Brockhole (even after hours the gate is open so you re welcome to walk in) and watch the sunset from the jetty which you will have all to yourselves. The foot is great and the bar and reception rooms are the perfect place to sit and watch the world go by!

Excellent location to explore the Lakes, great customer services, lovely food, great views from the outside patio area, overall a very enjoyable 4 night staycation

Lovely break at Windermere

This is such a lovely hotel with beautiful grounds . We had a lake facing room , it was very spacious and comfortable with all the extras you d expect . We had the 8 course tasting menu for dinner and it was lovely and afterwards took our wine and sat in front of the fire in the drawing room . Breakfast the next day was comprehensive and enjoyable with great service . We would definitely recommend .
