We stayed for my partners birthday i asked for a garden view room which was nice but i think it needs a bit more updating in places there was a large stain on the carpet by the radiator 1 pkt of biscuits in the room for tea and coffee staff were very good and it was clean the reason we wouldnt stay again is only because we like to try different places

Lovely rooms and ambience

Our room was very good, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom looked as though it had been recently refurbished and it was great, lashings of hot water and a powerful shower, just what you need on a walking break. We didn't use any of the spa facilities.
The main restaurant was classed as fine dining, and the hotel has 2 rosettes. Whilst the food was OK it was not up to the same standard as other 2 rosette hotels we have stayed in - nothing particularly wrong with the food but no "wow" factor. That said we did have the afternoon tea on one day and that was fantastic! If the evening meals were at the same standard as the afternoon tea I would have graded it higher. However, overall the style of the hotel and the pleasant staff made this an enjoyable stay.

Lovely winter break

We had a very nice 2night break at Appleby Manor. Nice food,very comfortable bed and big fluffy towels. My wife used the spa facilities and was very impressed by them.

One night stay

Very well organised and welcoming.
Dinner was exceptionally good.

Excellent staff

Had a fantastic 2 nights stay . Spa facilities are excellent especially the salt room. The staff are unbelievable, so friendly and helpful and welcoming, every single one of them

A nice quiet weekend

Hotel staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. However I found the hotel room to be quite dated and not the best location to be honest. The spa is spotless and staff in the spa again were amazing. The restaurant food was amazing in the evening! Lovely place to stay for overnight spa break just the location was a bit too far out for us.

Pleasant 3 day break

We enjoyed our break at Appleby Manor. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable. Afternoon tea was spectacular. All in all, we enjoyed it here

Overall

Staff very pleasant and helpful. Room needs a small table between the chairs. Food was poor in both dining room and bistro - most expensive things in dining room being the steak and lamb were tough and inedible. Bistro food quite tasteless. Wine was over priced. Enjoyed our break but would not return due to the food.
