Arrived after 3pm room not ready.Service in restaurant very poor waited half an hour for order to be taken.Menu choice poor,other tables received wrong orders.Fish soggy batter,hard chips,lukewarm peas.
On checkout charged for water.4Star not .Will not return as beautiful building in need of overall.

This hotel has a prime opportunity to be excellent but they either don t have the staff or the money to make it so. You can see the furnishings have been very nice in their day but now starting to fall apart and look tired;the overall cleanliness is OK but things are being missed e.g dead flies on the windowsill of the dining room and I had to ask for them to be removed, contrast that with the excellent view of the lake which I had whilst eating breakfast. On another note the evening meal was poor, ordered fish cake, it was a huge potato cake with hardly a trace of any fish. The hotel must be struggling to get staff as the outdoor tables were left uncleared with dirty plates and glasses and this attracted birds, also all of the bedroom windows have bird mess on them and the general appearance of the building is that of being unkempt ie you can see things need cleaned or painted. It s a shame as I am sure the staff are working hard but they are either overworked or inexperienced and the whole experience of the hotel is could do better. I was disappointed with the hotel as it is not cheap but neither is it value for money

For a supposedly four star hotel, the Belsfield is hugely disappointing. The room felt jaded as did much of the hotel. But the biggest let down was the quality of service. The restaurant service verged on the ridiculous at times when we were given wrong wine and desserts, only to be assured that they were what we had ordered. The staff during our stay must have bypassed their customer service training. Staff levels also seemed too low, with the bar left unmanned for long stretches. Since our stay we have heard of similar stories from other guests. It was a pricey stay but the quality didn t match the cost.

Not what I was expecting

Side room facing a block of flats after paying over 200
Even though country hotel offered a package deal sadly the restaurant there wasn t aware
Of the offer. Luckily I had printed out the package after much discussion with waiting staff finally we got served. Absolutely abominable slow service and prices were unbelievable
18 for sausages ridiculously expensive
Breakfast service was no better
Not what I was lead to believe.

If you enjoyed children running around the hotel up and down the stairs during late evening, ladies Down to breakfast in there pyjamas and very few people using masks, inthe hotel, this the hotel for you

Wonderful stay at The Belsfield Hotel

Recently had a two night stay at The Belsfield Hotel in The Lake District booked with Offpeakluxury.com. The location was amazing. We had money towards dinner included on the first night plus a lake cruise as part of our deal - fantastic value. The staff were so nice. The bar, restaurant and our room were great. Very much enjoyed and we'll book with this company again for sure.
