Lovely place for family getaway
Stayed here for one night with 11 members of my family. We were made very welcome on arrival and showed to our lovely well appointed rooms. Had afternoon tea and chilled out by the delightful open fire. As we had 2 young children with us we had a delicious dinner served in the private dining room. Totally enjoyed our stay and may go back next year. Only negative is bar drinks are rather expensive.
Lovely afternoon tea.
The excellent afternoon tea was the highlight of our stay.
Our rooms were good, with views over the lake, especially the one on the second floor.
The "quirky" modern decor of the public rooms of the hotel is incongruous with this historic house.
The restaurant lacks ambience; the staff in the restaurant were distracted by the presence of two large dinner parties; the meal was not impressive
Breakfast was good.
An enjoyable stay but disappointed in some respects
The hotel is well located, very clean and welcoming with excellent staff. The room was pleasant with a nice view of the Lake. The bathroom was modern but had no window or extractor fan. The tall towel rail could not be switched off making the bathroom heat unbearable and subsequently the bedroom. We mentioned it at Reception to be told that it couldn't be fixed, nor could another like for like room be offered. Disappointing. Also the dinner menu is repetitive offering the same each night so selection is very limited.

Enjoyable one night stay on DBB basis with afternoon tea. Comfortable 1st floor superior room with all amenities, overlooking side car park with some disturbance from deliveries to kitchen. Food very good, restaurant somewhat lacking in atmosphere (probably due to Covid restrictions). Wonderful attentive staff.

Relaxing and enjoyable stay in lovely location
Enjoyed everything about this hotel. The food was excellent. Only negative was some of the service in the dining room , part of the five course meal forgotten each evening and a couple of items at breakfast not as requested. Mostly likely the attention to detail by some members of the waiting staff, others were excellent
Quiet retreat with good food and staff
Stayed 2 nights and was impressed with the whole package.
Room was good and clean, but not the most modern. The food served in the restaurant was of very high quality and presented well.
Short walk to the "town" and ferry crossing. Only issue is the walk back in the grounds is quite steep.
Great hotel, that could do with air con in the rooms.
Great food, although real black pudding at breakfast (horseshoe) would be better.( personal preference would be chadwicks Bury) .
Highly recommended.
2 Night break in the Lakes
Lindeth Howe is a lovely building with historic links to Beatrix Potter. The gardens are beautiful and a relaxing place to sit on a sunny day. The restaurant food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. The lounges and bar are were very pleasant, with plenty of relaxing sofas and chairs in colourful upholstery designs.
We upgraded to an Executive room, which was spacious, but we were disappointed in the soft furnishings which were very grubby, and looked as if they had not been cleaned in for a long time, particularly the easy chairs and the window seat pad. The rooms are not serviced unless you actually request this on check in so you have to ask for anything you run out of from reception such as tea coffee or toiletries etc which I found a little surprising given the price bracket of the hotel.
The location is good and there is access through the garden to a path which leads to the main road into Bowness, although this fairly steep and may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the hotel is a relaxing place to stay for a short break, and conveniently located for visiting other areas within the Lakes.
