A unique venue with lots of charm

Anon, stayed: October 2024

The public rooms of the hotel were decorated with a quirky charm and elegance, paying due homage to Beatrix Potter who had owned and lived in the house. The gardens were lovely to look out on from our well positioned room. The breakfast was very good, the dinner was average. Our room was very big and clean but we felt that the furniture needed updating, without making it modern, to make it more comfortable.
Cocktails at the bar were excellent.
I would recommend the hotel to anyone interested in Beatrix Potter and Olde World charm.

Interesting building and amazing decor

Fiona, Stirlingshire, stayed: October 2024

The hotel building has an interesting history which has been beautifully reflected in the interior decoration. There is so much to look at and admire and the details are exquisite.
The room was very comfortable and the food delicious.

Belated Christmas gift.

Gordon, Lancashire, stayed: August 2024

We enjoyed our stay overall. A nice touch when we arrived was the disabled spot I had reserved actually had my name on it. The staff were friendly and helpful. We reported the tv in the room not working and in less than ten minutes a maintenance man was there tending to it. We don t usually watch tv when on a break but it was raining when we arrived. The first morning housekeeping came to service the room but we weren t ready to go out. We asked if they could come back in an hour. Yes no problem was the reply. When we returned later the room was spick and span. The location is a little off the beaten track but well worth it. The only downside, which had nothing to do with the hotel, was the weather. We had a lot of rain and because of this we were unable to enjoy the gardens.
