Lovely country house hotel
Very pretty country house hotel, lovely staff and very nice deluxe room (unfortunately the hotel was full so we were unable to get the suite upgrade). Really liked the fact that you could walk by the lake into Bowness-on-Windermere - around 20 mins. Enjoyable breakfasts and I like the fact that they made an effort with vegetarian/vegan meals. Regarding the food, the afternoon tea and desserts at dinner were particularly nice. Liked the connection with Beatrix Potter, and the memorabilia on show.
Excellent hotel stay
We had a lovely stay at Lindeth Howe. Extremely welcoming staff, beautiful hotel with luxurious room.
Food was of a very high quality. The location was ideal, close enough to Bowness to walk in but in a relaxing environment.
Lindeth Howe
Idyllic, very relaxing and altogether an excellent break.
Country House Hotel
Hotel is friendly and has a nice Ambience.
However the food in the Restaurant is not as good as it says it is, the same menu each night if you stay for more than one night. I had sea bass the fish was nicely cooked but the leeks and potatoes where not up to scratch. The staff in the restaurant are young and the service is slow. Watch out you be specific re breakfast order I asked for just grilled tomato and got just half yes half a tomato Had tea in the garden in the afternoon but the cups where still on the table outside when I came down for dinner. Just lacking something. The gardens could be more manicured grass needed cutting pleasant enough the setting is very coinvent for the Lake. Better for more mature people not geared up for children.
Great Hotel
Really enjoyed our stay at Lindeth Howe.Great position beside Lake Windermere and easy walking distance into Bowness-on-Windermere.Lovely garden surrounding hotel and staff were very helpful and polite. Will recommend to friends and family.
Lovely hotel, needs to cater for vegetarians
This was our first stay at this hotel, but our second meal. Whilst there is plenty of choice on the regular menu, the vegetarian is somewhat lacking and felt like a bit of a token gesture. During our stay we had an afternoon tea, and I have to say (after having many afternoon teas in the Lake District) it was disappointing. It looked nothing like the photo on the website, one of the vegetarian finger sandwiches was plain tomato (no seasoning and as we were lucky enough to eat outside, there was none available on the table). Personally if you are going to have a simple sandwich like that for afternoon tea, it should be cucumber. Two of the cakes were so sweet we couldn't eat them (that has never happened before).
Having said this the hotel is lovely, our room (The Westmorland Suite was amazing) and the staff are friendly. It's also in a stunning location just a short walk away from Bowness.
Lindeth Howe
Superb stay at this quality hotel. The staff were fantastic so helpful and friendly. With its links to Beatrix Potter it provided a memorable stay. The food was excellent and the afternoon tea a delight. Although at the top end of the budget it provided a few days of luxury. I'd recommend this hotel without hesitation.
