Over all the room was not up to specification
Handles miss off drawer's lock on patio faulty
And every light in room controlled by 1 switch
So it's very bright or dark

Fantastic location in Lake District

Fantastic location. Nicely laid out with separate bar area & impressive conservatory with lakeside garden. Lovely dining room with nice menu choice & attentive service. Nice breakfast. Dinner menu beautifully presented but expensive with portion size more akin to a tasting menu. Bistro offers better value but the glass fronted dining areas lack ambiance of the main restaurant. This is probably a better option for families but has limited covers & books up quickly. Hotel is pet friendly. Mainly dogs but saw a ferret too. However, like people, dogs can be excitable & not the best behaved. The barking dog & it s owners that passed our room on both nights were indifferent to people trying to sleep. Appreciate these things happen but it did put us off a bit.

From the minute of checking in to departure it was a relaxing break
So close to the steamraiiway and the boats on the lake visit the aquarium

Relaxing luxury stay

Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted by very helpful, friendly and professional staff, shown to our room and layout of hotel explained. Public areas, restaurant and spa all excellent with great staff. Our room (overlooking the lake) was spacious, with a large bathroom complete with robes etc but was slightly let down by the jacuzzi bath not working. We are led to believe that the rooms are all due an update in the coming year. Overall our stay was very enjoyable and would definitely return.

Great hotel

We had a fabulous adult family break here. Very comfortable hotel. Friendly, helpful staff with a fabulous spa.

The food was very good but unfortunately the service in the restaurant lets it down. Incredibly slow- I'm all for a relaxing meal but we spent 2 hours on a 2 course meal which is too slow. Attention to detail on service is lacking.
Would stay again at the hotel but wouldn't eat in the restaurant.

Great weekend

Went for a lovely break away, great hotel with a relaxing ambience. Gorgeous views, great breakfast - definitely worth a visit.
