A wonderful stay

I stayed for two nights with my sister as a belated birthday celebration for us both. The hotel was everything that we had hoped for. All of the staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. Our room was very comfortable and all of our requests had been met. The food in the restaurant was delicious and a bit different to the normal. Breakfast was exceptional, lots of choice and a served hot breakfast if you wanted. The setting on the lake was perfect and the grounds and gardens perfectly maintained. We were able to take the Lakeland cruise into Bowness. We didn t book any spa treatments but we did use the pool and hot tub. There is a small gym room with up to date equipment. We would definitely recommend and hopefully we will stay again.

Ideal venue for quiet 25th Wedding anniversary

Location next to the lake is superb. Easy access to steam train and lake cruises from jetty next to the hotel. Free overnight parking provided behind the aquarium. We had a lovely lake view in a quiet part of the hotel annex - slight walk to room up several flights of stairs as lift operation was unreliable. We used the pool and sauna/steam every morning and evening - very nice facilities . Suggest going in early evening to avoid family groups.
As part of package we got chocolate and prosecco in the room with a nice anniversary card from the hotel.
Ate first night in brasserie - very good service with varied lighter meal options - fresh fish very nice. Send meal was in formal dining room - excellent menu , well prepared and very good service from all the dining room staff. Breakfast is very substantial with cook to order hot choices including smoked salmon and avocado toast .
Overall and excellent short stay venue- good value with excellent service and of course the lakeside location.

Restaurant had a limited menu selection which was the same each day. Room window had limited opening for fresh air.
Full English breakfast was luke warm and was not offered the option to have it heated up.

Relaxing break

A short but very enjoyable stay
