Will definitely visit again!

Booked through Off Peak Luxury, our experience was first class. They willingly changed dates for us when we needed to rearrange. The hotel is very welcoming Reception staff are excellent. Emily greeted us politely and in a friendly manner. She led us to our room, explaining the routines for meals etc. The room we had was good. Clean and comfortable. Restaurant staff are helpful and pleasant. Service is very good. From quite a small menu we were able to have sufficient choice to enjoy dinner each evening. Breakfasts were excellent.
We really enjoyed the short break and will visit again.

A pleasant place

A quality hotel with excellent staff and good food. Dog friendly. Well kept grounds with pleasant views. Walks down to Windermere Lake, but they're restricted, winding trails, steep in places. No strolling along the lake's edge and gazing at endless vistas. You'll need to go off-site for that!

Short break stay at Cragwood House

My friend and I enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were welcoming, friendly and obliging. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom was well stocked with toiletries. The food was good but I found the evening meal to be rather over- elaborate. Maybe I should have asked if there was an alternative main course available.

The gardens and ground were attractive with access to the lake. A regular bus service runs from the end of the hotel drive to Windermere or to Grasmere with connections to onward destinations s o it is possible to leave the car behind.

Cragwood, nr. Windermere - great stay

We arrived to friendly smiles and helpful people. The dog was made very welcome - spoilt in fact.
Beds extremely comfortable as was the room generally with everything we needed. Look forward to returning at some stage.
Just one minor disappointment - we had the same dinner menu each evening which was slightly surprising considering the quality of the hotel. A small carp for was a really pleasant 2 night stay.

Welcoming and attentive staff, beautiful grounds and views, the room we had was most comfortable and spacious with lovely views across the lake.

One night at Cragwood

Our recent stay at Cragwood overall was a lovely experience. We stayed in room 4 which had the best view from a large bay window overlooking the gardens and the lake. The bedroom was large but the en suite was far too tiny and cramped. Not enough floor space to stand and dry yourself with a bath towel, we did that stood in the bath. The bed head which was a silky material had two large dark greasy head marks on - it was a shame about its faults as the room could have been better value for the 220 we paid for the night.

Our room was excellent, the meals in the restaurant were very well cooked and presented and service attentive and courteous, Our only cavill was breakfast when both mornings service fell short of the standard set in the evening.
