Perfect!

From the friendly, helpful staff to the beautiful location, every part of our stay was excellent . The evening meal was a special highlight with delicious food served to a high standards all round. We were lucky, the sun shone throughout our stay, so we could enjoy long lazy lunches on the patio, overlooking the lake followed by a gentle stroll round the grounds to the lake side.
We had a bed breakfast and evening meal package, with welcoming bottle of Prosecco, which was great value and provided a proper treat for all our party of 6. Every member of staff played their part in ensuring our stay was a great success- a real gem, we will stay at Cragwood again..

Wonderful 2 nights stay in amazing weather

We were so impressed by this hotel just driving up to it, with the location and free parking. We had wonderful views of the lake from our room. We took the prosecco down to sit on the terrace and admire the views in the glorious sunshine. RAF jets shot through doing their low-level flying, all added to the enjoyment.
In the restaurant we thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful of the chef's tasting menu and finished with coffee and chocolates in the lounge. It was all perfect.
The grounds were lovely to walk through and down to the lake.
Very helpful and friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice short Break

We booked a three night DBB Sunday to Wednesday break Which was wonderful Good choice for breakfast Evening meal (Gourmet Restaurant) good choices ( Five course) With coffee Would highly recommend And hopefully return soon Great value for money

3 day January walking break .

All staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. Made us feel really comfortable. We had a massive room overlooking the lake. 5 course dining was part of our deal and we loved it ! Top breakfast too. Hotel is in a brilliant, central location for walking and exploring. We even jumped on a frequent bus service from Ambleside and it stopped virtually outside. Thoroughly recommend for a sensibly priced, really nice break. PS it hit minus 11 on our last night but the roaring lounge fire was warm enough to enjoy our after dinner drinks !
