Birthday treat
This a great hotel for a really relaxing break,
very good position for walks and exploring the history
around Grange over sands.
Short Break
Good position handy for quaint Grange over Sands town centre and Lake District attractions. Good valve mini break package.
Two night/three day stay
We wanted to get away, for a break from everything, and although not far from us, Grange seemed ideal, the hotel was nice, well decorated and furnished, the restaurant menu and the food were excellent, as were the staff. Would certainly recommend it to others.
We had been for bar meals before, but never stayed.
Good Food and Friendly Staff
Food excellent, albeit off a fairly limited menu at both dinner and breakfast. Restaurant and bar staff very good.
Plumbing in our room could use an update and housekeeping was in some disarray. perhaps due to staff changes.
Tired hotel
The overall look of the hotel is lovely but you can see where it has been beautified but not yet finished. The rooms look luxurious but lack the little extras like slippers, tissues in the bathroom. The tie backs on the curtains didn t match, the reading lights above the bed didn t work. The room was excessively hot in the night; luckily we had a front facing so could open the window. We spoke to some who had an inner room who couldn t get a breeze.
Our packaged offered a room upgrade this didn t happen & I wouldn t say it was crowded.
The food in the restaurant was delicious & service excellent however we booked a 5 course & got 3 being told they don t do 5 anymore. Breakfast was also very good.
The spa was cold, the steam room, sauna, pool even the hot tub too cold to linger. They should have harvested the heat from night time & diverted.
It could be lovely with a bit of money spent.
Room 125
The staff are all really nice. Olga and another lady I can t remember (catering manager) were first class. The restaurant is lovely and the menus were excellent. However .in our room , the bed was fairly uncomfortable and the pillows need an upgrade. There was no bedside light on one side and the other one was so dim it s impossible to read in bed. The shower is devoid of power whereas the sink has loads of pressure. There is a towel rail which isn t switched on and it does say if you want to use the same towel every day (which I was happy to do) there ll be wet the next morning. So I asked to change them. I would stay again if the bed was better.
Beck review
Only 2 criticisms for an otherwise very enjoyable break.
1. Our booking through the Daily Telegraph included a room upgrade. We didn t get one! We finished up with a room at the back of the hotel, facing a 10 foot blank wall.
2 The sleeping policeman need some warning such as white paint. I feel sure sure I ve damaged my car.

Restaurant menu
Very limiting with out of the four starters two had aubergines in.! I like a small menu but each item needs to be of different ingredients. I am unable to eat onions and aubergines so my choice was very limited so we did not eat in that restaurant again
