February stay
Me and my boyfriend could not fault our stay. From arriving to having our car parked and stored for the weekend to the room with a view onto the lake was lovely and the room layout with all that was included we had no issues with. The breakfast that was included both mornings was average but what you would expect. The food included on evening 1 was a 3 course and was beautiful a meal I would highly recommend. We unfortunately didn t get time to even see the spa let alone try it out so i can t comment but would happily stay again and hopefully get the chance of this next time.

Completely relaxing holiday. We loved the freedom of the meal times.
Excellent breakfast.
We arrived on the day the Snow Came!
I arrived with my daughter for an overnight Spa break on the day the snow fell. Took us 4 hours to get from Windermere to the hotel in Bowness!! We rang ahead and a young man came up from the hotel, opened the car park for us and then carried our bags back to reception. What a star! Once at the hotel, the customer service continued to be excellent for the duration of the stay. The hotel, the rooms, the location and the SPA were all first class and highly recommended. We were mightily impressed by the fact that a coach party had been stranded in Bowness that day, and the staff obviously moved heaven and earth to feed and accommodate them. Well done all of you. It needed to be very special to be worth the journey, and it was!
Wonderful stay
Enjoyed our overnight stay here. The super delux room was beautiful, very clean and well appointed with a great sofa and chairs along with tv and desk in a separate area of the bedroom. The bathroom was a good size and also very clean and looked quite new.
Vouchers for all the extras included on our booking details were provided at check in time. We dined in the restaurant in the evening and had breakfast in the morning and the service and food were great. Lovely to have a window table at breakfast which was a beautiful sunny day with gorgeous views of the lake. We will definitely return to the Old England and would recommend booking through Country Hotel Breaks
Great location, parking not so good most of the staff where pleasant Sandra booked us in was great.
Overall it was a fantastic location, brilliant few from the bedroom on to the lake, most of the staff was happy and engaging, and couldn't do enough to help . Food good facilities good, the hotel in my opinion needs a full transformation to bring it nearer their times and still keep its history, if only I had the money to buy it and make the most of its location and opportunities and using that to make more revenue and doors for the hotel. Just have to win on the lottery or if the owners fancy on taking me on and my partner to help take it to the next level. .x
Lovely characterful hotel
Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is old but full of character the staff are very helpful and the food in the restaurant is brilliant. We were in room 202 and had a massive bed and had a lovely Kew of the boats. Breakfast was buffet over the weekend and to order in the week and the staff were very good at no point did we think there was a shortage of staff. Did not use spa as couldn t get down the stairs
Perfect location and excellent room
2 day stay
