A nice enough break
We redeemed a high tea, overnight stay, 5 course dinner and breakfast voucher to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff who served high tea on our arrival were very warm and accomodating. Though they had reserved a table, when we asked to move to a different one this was great. I particularly found the catering staff who served this meal to be the warmest and they really saved the trip.
As he also served breakfast the next morning, I was sure to say a heartfelt thank you.
When our reservation was placed, we included all dietary requirements so it was annoying that at every meal time, we still neded to ask for or check that the appropriate dairy free foods were seved or on its way.
Also at dinner time, though there were only a few people eating. The staff seated everyone in the same corner of the room, this made conversations very restrictive! As the other couple were only seated a few inches away and could hear the neighbouring couples whole conversation and any had with the waiters.
The five course meal was very filling. Each dish was beautifully presented, a lot more filling than we expected and a delicious meal on its own. We had to make it to the desert though and each enjoyed these. A massive thank you to the chefs! By the end of it, we needed a walk around the building and a herbal tea!
The reception staff were also very helpful and friendly throughoutthe duration of our stay. Made us feel very welcome, answered any questions and even gave recommendations.
Relaxing and enjoyable stay in lovely location
Enjoyed everything about this hotel. The food was excellent. Only negative was some of the service in the dining room , part of the five course meal forgotten each evening and a couple of items at breakfast not as requested. Mostly likely the attention to detail by some members of the waiting staff, others were excellent
Quiet retreat with good food and staff
Stayed 2 nights and was impressed with the whole package.
Room was good and clean, but not the most modern. The food served in the restaurant was of very high quality and presented well.
Short walk to the "town" and ferry crossing. Only issue is the walk back in the grounds is quite steep.
Great hotel, that could do with air con in the rooms.
Great food, although real black pudding at breakfast (horseshoe) would be better.( personal preference would be chadwicks Bury) .
Highly recommended.
2 Night break in the Lakes
Lindeth Howe is a lovely building with historic links to Beatrix Potter. The gardens are beautiful and a relaxing place to sit on a sunny day. The restaurant food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. The lounges and bar are were very pleasant, with plenty of relaxing sofas and chairs in colourful upholstery designs.
We upgraded to an Executive room, which was spacious, but we were disappointed in the soft furnishings which were very grubby, and looked as if they had not been cleaned in for a long time, particularly the easy chairs and the window seat pad. The rooms are not serviced unless you actually request this on check in so you have to ask for anything you run out of from reception such as tea coffee or toiletries etc which I found a little surprising given the price bracket of the hotel.
The location is good and there is access through the garden to a path which leads to the main road into Bowness, although this fairly steep and may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the hotel is a relaxing place to stay for a short break, and conveniently located for visiting other areas within the Lakes.

Charming place/location with a Beatrix Potter vibe.
Silver Anniversary Trip.
Delightful House and Location. House itself has been tastefully extended to maintain its overall appearance. Beatrix Potter apparently stayed here from time-to-time and this is reflected in the decor. The whole place has lots of character but with a clean and modern take.
Our 'superior double' on the 2nd floor was light, clean and spacious with garden view. (Could see the mountains in the distance and Windermere off to the left) No lift but hay-ho...
Staff were amenable and attentive. Lovely restaurant. Food was excellent. Our only slight gripe was that the dinner menu was a bit limited. (Weren't quite sure what to have by the third night).
Excellent breakfast and choices though .The freshly cooked full 'Cumbrian' breakfast was a must at least once!
Took us 26 years to make it back here but it was worth it.
Relaxing break
From arrival to checking out the staff were friendly, helpful, and most of all, caring. Nothing was too much trouble despite the fact that hotel staff numbers were limited, and I include the hotel manager in that statement. Food was excellent although the menu was a little limited, again due to staff shortages. The hotel is situated in lovely cared for gardens with views from our room of the lake. The weather was kind to us and we spent a couple of relaxing afternoons in the sunlight gardens with a glass in hand. All in all a very enjoyable few days. The EV charging point was a bonus.
Two night break.
Two night break inc dinner each evening. Service was a bit of an issue throughout. Went to the cocktail bar for a pre-dinner drink and had real difficulty being served. Staff member was rather curt. Dinner was good both nights with very good presentation. It appeared that staff shortage was meaning that some members were doing everything leading to long delays.
