Fab hotel
Hotel was fab, food was delicious, rooms clean ,only minor fault is that although good was delicious the menu choice was very limited

We found Lindeth Howe an excellent hotel. The food was superb. Location good within 20 minute walk of Bowness. Gardens relaxing and decor quirky and we had really lovely stay even with COVID restrictions. We will be back
Weekend break - July 2021
Lovely hotel in a tranquil setting. Customer service was good overall; let down by one person on reception who was rather dismissive.
Food choice on the evening menu was limited especially for vegetarians. Worse on our second night when the choice was more limited (no specials menu) due to the hotel hosting a wedding. Breakfast was a disappointment too as requested soft boiled eggs were hard boiled.
Our booking also included a selection of home made chocolates which were not delivered. Hotel did provide a refund for this but were very reluctant to do so.
There are better places to stay in Bowness for the price.
Lovely stay at Lindeth Howe
Everything about the hotel and staff was first class. The staff were very attentive without being intrusive and were always courteous and polite. We found the standard of our double room excellent, with everything we needed. Our afternoon tea was of very good quality and our restaurant experience was excellent. We will certainly return again.
Nice place but could be better for the price
We were travelling as a family of four with a small baby. The hotel and grounds are nice and the staff helpful. The room was a family room on the second floor without lift which was a bit hard when you have to carry a baby. The room was nicely appointed although at this price point I was expecting slightly better bedding and a more luxurious bathroom: the mattress was a bit hard and springy and the bathroom was on the small side and the finishes were a bit cheap (shower walls were faux marble made of plastic, the carpet by the bathroom door had come unattached). The other thing to know is that the atmosphere in the dining room felt very quiet and at times a bit stuffy some evenings (lots of very quiet older couples). On the whole it is a nice place with nice staff and good food but a bit expensive for what you get. They could make it a bit more family friendly with garden games maybe but I am not sure it is the clientele they re after.
Value for money
This was a really nice hotel. Walking distance to the Lake. The package we had was really good value for money. Our room was a corner room and was huge. The bed was so comfy. The disappointing thing was the menu was the same each night of our stay, but there was enough choice to find something different each evening. Breakfast was really good and nicely cooked.
Excellent themed hotel
Unique hotel with excellent service (bringing fresh milk and ice to the room within minutes)
Room very clean with large comfortable bed
Spacious restaurant with good food and service only negative would have been a slight change of menu
Lovely break at Lindeth Howe
We stayed four nights here for our 30th wedding anniversary in August having booked quite some time before from a newspaper offer that included 5 course dinner each evening, an afternoon tea as well as bed and breakfast. Having just re-emerged from the pandemic the hotel had clearly hired new staff with whom they were in the process of training and which they were doing brilliantly. However, the key staff - managers and chef - were not only went out of their way to help in every way, but were also always visible and friendly. This led to a lovely ambience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.
