Great food and helpful staff

We spent 2 nights here and had a really good stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely outstanding and a great wine list. We ate in the restaurant both nights. We stayed in a main house room, which though adequate was a little tired - there were no Lake view rooms available for the nights we stayed but I suspect these are better. Having said that the room didn't distract from a lovely stay.

Cragwood Country House . Simply The Best.

We stayed at the Gragwood for a couple of days as it was a present for my husbands 60th birthday. We simply had THE Best Time . Every single one of the staff ,right through to the gardeners were amazing . Nothing was too much trouble . They always had time for a quick chat . The hotel itself was beautiful set in a very outstandingly beautiful setting. We had an adapted room which was brilliant,beautifully decorated and filled with everything we could possibly need ,right down to a bottle of sweets . The patio doors opened on to gorgeous gardens . I recorded 12 different birds singing in 5 minutes ,one an Andean Solitaire that no one had heard of . I was in bird heaven. The food was delicious and when I struggled with one of the courses ,they were quick to find alternative. I have run out of words to describe how amazing the whole experience was. Would be there again in a heartbeat. Thank you Gragwood , you made us very happy.

Wonderful setting and location. Food good, but didn't really cater for Gluten free considering the standard portrayed of restaurant. Service lacking throughout stay, had to keep following up with staff.

Although we were generally thrilled with everything, we were disturbed by people in the neighbouring room talking from around midnight for about half an hour.

the safety doors on each side are presumably required safety measures but spoil the general decor and one of them was not flush with the carpet so not sound proof.

all staff were most friendly and helpful, especially Stacey, Mike and Anne-Marie

Birthday surprise

Excellent overnighter in lovely location with stunning views of the lake and mountains beyond. Room was spacious and comfortable, dinner was exceptional and breakfast very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Booked it for a special birthday surprise for my wife and we certainly weren t disappointed. Would definitely recommend.

Superb evening meal and excellent service. Comfortable room and comyfy bed.

The gardens and the lakeshore with private access were a delight. Well maintained but not aggressively soon a woodland area. The carvings in the lakeshore stone were fascinating.
