Relaxing, With Fabulous Food.

This lovely Country House Hotel is in an idilic location. Check in was efficient and we were shown to our room. The bedroom was tastefully furnished and although we had a view of the car park we had a peaceful nights sleep. The bathroom was a little small for 2 people but as it was only for one night it was fine. I would have liked a bathrobe and slippers.
The Restaurant was in a beautiful room and the staff very friendly. The food was of a very high standard. Gourmet food at its best.
Breakfast was very good. We really enjoyed our stay at Cragwood Country House Hotel.

Welcoming hotel

We were greeted by Gavin and shown to our room where he took time to explain what the hotel had to offer. Dinner was really good although the ambience in the dining room was very subdued. The dining room appeared to have been updated fairly recently but the overall atmosphere was that if a luxurious rest home. It would be appealing to an older generation of clientele and if that is the target market then it was spot on. All the staff were very helpful and extremely friendly and were knowledgeable about the local area. The grounds are lovely and it s possible to walk right down to the edge of the lake. It was a pleasant short stay.

Autumn break

Stayed for 4 nights from 10th October. Receptionist very friendly, received a room upgrade which was a nice surprise. Great hotel, excellent restaurant, superb food. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good location halfway between Ambleside and Windermere. Walked the hotel grounds and saw Deer and various birds along with fantastic views of the lake. Had a lovely relaxing stay. Would not hesitate to recommend.

We had a two night stay at Cragwood and had a very relaxing time. the food was excellent as was the waiters serving it.Would stay again.

Great location, okay place to stay.

We stayed here for our 4th wedding anniversary. Staff are welcoming and pleasant. The bar is small, but okay, prices are high. 4.90 for a beer.
The toilet under the stairs just through from the bar is comical, it is tiny, and under some stairs. The bathroom in your room is not much bigger. Dinner was okay, but stayed in alot of places like this that were alot better. It was a pleasant stay, but could of been better. Great views and location though.

Lovely location and nice interior

We loved the location and the hotel. My only comment would be that disapointment in the lack of sound proffing and light which passed from an ajoining romm to ours. The alternative fire escape passed into the neigbouring room. From 6am we could hear every noise from the neighbouring room and light bassed under the door. We passed this onto the reception on departure , I hope something can be done as it did spoil our stay. This appled to Room 5 which was stunning if this addional door hadnt been there.
