About hotel

Hotel was very nice they said on booking we would be given an chance to upgrade our room this was never mentioned and there are quite a lot of stairs being in my late seventy s apart from that the hotel was very clean , food good but need a change in menus if you stop more than a couple of days.

Enjoyed our stay - very helpful staff in all departments. Would highly recommend it to friends.

Excellent Stay

We spent three days in a garden room, it was really lovely (shame about the weather) The gardens are beautifully kept.
Breakfast wasn t as good as it could be. Unfortunately the breakfast chef overcooked everything. The food was really good quality but, absolutely ruined which was a shame. Bacon etc., must have been in the oven for hours. I saw too many breakfasts being taken away not eaten. Evening meal was excellent.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. Cleanliness was to be commended, well done cleaning staff.
We would stay again in a heartbeat.

Relaxing Briery Wood stay.

Very helpful staff especially with my husband who has problems walking.We were able to relax in the lounge without the need to go out into all the Lake District traffic.

October break

This hotel was very friendly and exceptionally good value. It's position is convenient for both Windermere and Ambleside and there are many good walks nearby. We would stay there again.

We were a little unsure about a trip away, as we had not even stepped inside a supermarket since before lockdown. We were reassured by the information on the website re Covid-19 measures. This was backed up by the situation in the hotel when we arrived. The staff were all friendly, polite and helpful. Safety measures were explained and kept to. We couldn't fault anything. Thank you.

Fantastic stay

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left all the staff were friendly and helpful. Always greeted with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely clean modern room and amazing food. Great location as only 5 minute walk to Brockhole where you could catch a lake cruise or try an outdoor activity.
