Perfect resort for relaxing and walking

From the friendly reception to the final goodbye, the staff here are simply great. The food is superb, ambience very relaxing and situated 10 minutes from Derwent Water and 2 mi items from the fells the location is ideal.
Only minor negative is that the bed was a little on the small side for a 6 4 bloke but otherwise it was perfect.

Beautiful Borrowdale

Borrowdale Gates is a wonderful hotel, ideal for a special occasion such as ours. It is set in scenic grounds with delightful views to the fells. Peace and birdsong reign supreme. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the public areas spacious, comfortable and, again, with amazing views.The staff are knowledgeable, efficient but, above all, friendly. The restaurant and cuisine is excellent in all respects. Compliments to the chef and his team. Many thanks to everyone. We would love ro revisit Borrowdale Gates.

Lovely short break

We had a wonderful two-night break. The bedroom was extremely spacious and comfortable, the food was excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient. A beautiful location.

Excellent hotel

The Hotel was excellent in every degree. The food was outstanding and, overall, the stay at the Hotel for the quality provided was extremely good value for money.

Excellent stay

Some hotels work hard to provide excellence and a very few find it comes naturally. The latter fits the bill here. We had a wonderful stay and on the final evening decided it was our best holiday detination ever. Having visited 70 countries it was some accolade
