A hotel with a high standard of service and a fine dining restaurant. The staff were friendly and efficient. The location in the Borrowdale Valley is quite idyllic. Very convenient to climb the very popular Cats Bell.

Weekend break

Borrowdale Gates is a gem of a hotel. This was our second stay in 4 months which I think says everything. Bedrooms and bathrooms beautiful. Food very good. We relished it all. Staff so very friendly. Will definitely return.

50th anniversary celebration

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay celebrating our 50th anniversary. The staff were very efficient and helpful and friendly. The restaurant staff very professional and the food was excellent.

Perfect mini break in the stunning Lake District

Stayed at Borrowdale Gates Hotel several times. The staff are helpful and friendly, the beds are comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. The food in the restaurant is superb. Location is excellent.
