First class inn to stay in lovely staff who were most helpful which helps to make our stay great

Nice for one nights

It was pleasant for one night but it wasn t as luxurious as I thought for the price . I would stay again but only if it was on offer

No review title

The room we stayed in was not very big. It was not serviced while we were there, The blind in the en-suite was broken and stained,the carpets not been hovered overhaul not very clean for a five star hotel.

Lovely bar and restaurant

We enjoyed our stay, the bar and restaurant are warm and welcoming. Food is lovely. I would think the superior rooms would be great. Our standard room was well decorated and clean, but sadly had an overpowering musty smell and mould in one corner and around the window under the pelmet, so slept with the window open.
We would possibly eat here again but probably not to stay.

Two night stay

We had been given a gift voucher through Country Hotel Breaks as a present. We decided to book an extra night ourselves via the hotel directly. However this was not an easy task, as there was no answer on the phone on several attempts.
On arrival we found everything was sorted as per our requests. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room (36) was quite large and comfortable. However the creaking floorboards may have been an irritation to anyone staying in the room below. Fantastic choice at breakfast, with excellent service. We didn t eat at the hotel on the evenings as we felt it a bit expensive, so we can t comment on that. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. The leaflets about local walks were very handy, as was the boot cleaning service.

Can t wait to be back

Only stayed for a night but was so impressed with the stunning location/grounds.
The hotel itself, the decor was perfect for the Lake District and I can only imagine how truly beautiful it would be in the winter, as summer was stunning too. We enjoyed our complimentary welcome drink on the little outdoor terrace and the helpful reception staff kindly sorted a taxi into Windermere for us.
The room was lovely and clean, comfy bed and a stunning view of the grounds. Bathroom was nicely decorated too.
Breakfast. Wow! No words to describe it really, other than breakfast was an experience in itself. Again, so beautiful to eat with the windows open, sunlight pouring in but when the breakfast came, it was incredible. Taste, variety, experience.
Amazing!

An enjoyable stay

We later found out that we could have had an accessible room which would have made our stay even better. We found the stairs troublesome for access to our room.

An ok break

Room 15 is a fabulous location with access immediately to the fabulous grounds. Unfortunately the whole room and bathroom smell badly of damp. This issue needs to be rectified urgently. Otherwise enjoyed the stay very much.
