Enjoyable stay

Bernard B, stayed: October 2024

We had a lovey two nights in the hotel. A few minor issues gave us problems.
1. There was no space in the lower car park and carrying the bags from the upper carpark is more difficult for less able guests.
2 The radiator was not on in our room on arrival. Instructions to make it work would have been helpful.
This was quite important as the part of the building where our room was situated was not as warm as elsewhere in the hotel.
3 The TV had been set by previous guests in a manner that took about 30 mins pressing buttons to obtain BBC1 Guidance for this would also have helped.

Family break

Ross G, Ayrshire, stayed: November 2024

We really enjoyed our family catch up at the Netherwood. Really well sited for walks along the promenade and for ambling into town. Food was very good and the staff were helpful and friendly. Open fires in the hotel made it a very cosy place to be over a chilly November weekend. The spa area worked well for us, and a few of us enjoyed treatments on the Sunday morning. Everything spot on.

Devil is in the detail

JC, Staffordshire, stayed: November 2024

My only disappointment was in the bedding, it looked like a reject from the premier inn. Had some investment been made into high quality bedding and pillows/cushions then this would have enhanced the room. It was a superior room and yet very small but it was all about the view and that was incredible and worthy of another trip. Can only imagine how impressive it will be in the Summer.
There was work in progress, painting and general maintenance (perhaps in readiness for Christmas) but this was a little distracting although it didn't spoil the experience. It's a 4 Star Hotel and I would say they deserve that rating but they are a long way from 5 stars. The food was good but a limited menu and so spending 2 nights there meant we struggled for choice on the second evening and so wouldn't do that nest time, should we stay again.

Wonderful overnight break

Ken, Cheshire, stayed: January 2025

We stayed overnight on a dinner bed and breakfast deal. On arrival we were blessed with a beautiful cold sunny day so had a walk on the promenade. The views were amazing and we were ready for our cream tea afterwards. The communal areas of the hotel were beautifully decorated and roaring log fires added to the cosy atmosphere. The room was clean and had a lovely view of the bay. Dinner was excellent - we both had the chicken main which was delicious. The staff were all very friendly and happy to help. Especially liked the service in the bar. Breakfast was also very good. Highly recommend this beautiful period hotel.

Lovely Break

SW, Lancashire, stayed: February 2025

We booked this break to celebrate a friend s 70th birthday and it was perfect. The rooms were great with lovely views, the food was excellent and the service at every turn was helpful and friendly. Our only slight niggle was that when we were booking our treatments there was only one therapist in the spa which meant we spent much longer apart than we would have liked. We managed to work round that and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. We walked in and out of the town easily and felt very welcome all round, thank you.

Amazing

Martin D, Lancashire, stayed: February 2025

We booked as a group of four on a one-night stay. We arrived early so had a cream tea in the lounge before taking a walk along the front. Once checked in we enjoyed a drink at the bar soaking up the warmth of the open log fireplace. The service throughout our stay was exceptional, well above the star rating of this hotel. Our evening dinner surpassed all expectations, the food and service being that of a top-class restaurant. The rooms were clean, warm and tidy with beautiful views of the Bay. A Great Breakfast in the morning set us up for the day. All the staff were friendly and attentive. We will be returning here again.
