Couldn t recommend this place enough!

Ben, Northamptonshire, stayed: June 2021

If you are looking to stay on Windermere, you should 100% stay here. Whilst our room was snug, the view more than made up for it. The staff are wonderful and so helpful. In the evenings you can walk down from the hotel and into Brockhole (even after hours the gate is open so you re welcome to walk in) and watch the sunset from the jetty which you will have all to yourselves. The foot is great and the bar and reception rooms are the perfect place to sit and watch the world go by!

Fabulous

Kirsty, Cumbria, stayed: November 2019

Lovely, friendly, cosy hotel. Log fires and wonderful food. A real treat the food was exceptional, afternoon tea luxurious and evening tasting menu fine dining with friendly staff nothing too much trouble. The drinks were also reasonably priced. Lovely views of the lake and modern well presented bedrooms with lovely touches like a coffee machine and jar of sweets!
Will definitely be back

Lovely break at Windermere

MS, Lanarkshire, stayed: March 2020

This is such a lovely hotel with beautiful grounds . We had a lake facing room , it was very spacious and comfortable with all the extras you d expect . We had the 8 course tasting menu for dinner and it was lovely and afterwards took our wine and sat in front of the fire in the drawing room . Breakfast the next day was comprehensive and enjoyable with great service . We would definitely recommend .

A Hidden Gem

SD, N Yorkshire, stayed: July 2021

A fantastic hotel, small enough to give personal service but with an outstanding location on the shores of Windermere and top class restaurant facilities. Ever member of staff was welcoming friendly and attentive . Rooms were very clean and comfortable, ours had a lovely view of the lake. With such a secluded, peaceful location and excellent accommodation, this hotel is a hidden gem which we will look forward to booking again.

A great hotel to stay

Raymond H, Derbyshire, stayed: September 2021

We booked this hotel with a couple of friends to celebrate a 70th birthday.

The hotel is in lovely location and our upgraded room had views of Lake Windermere. The hotel staff were friendly, efficient and extremely helpful throughout our stay. The buffet breakfast was very good and you could order poached eggs to your liking (the chef got my wife s eggs perfect every time). The evening meals were excellent, particularly the 7 course taster menu which we had on the birthday. The staff even blew our balloons up with helium and decorated the table which made it extra special.

The hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere too and there are comfortable lounges as well as the bar area where you can sit and take in the views. It s location is ideal for visiting Bowness, Kendal and Grasmere as well as great walks nearby. Would recommend the Coffin Trail.

We booked a 3 night deal which included bed and breakfast, an evening meal up to the value of 55 per person each night and a bottle of Prosecco in your room. Certainly great value and if you re thinking of booking, don t hesitate, you won t be disappointed.

We hopefully will return next year.

Thank you to all the staff at the Merewood Hotel.
