Great Stay

Excellent hotel with superb service

Hillthwaite.

We had a very enjoyable stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel lounge area was very comfortable. The bar was well stocked with cocktails available and dinner was a delight particularly the Sunday roast.
The hotel was well situated, halfway between Windermere and Bowness. This made walking preferable to taking the car..
We would definitely return..

Beautiful location & friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Restaurant generally very good but would have liked to see more variation in the menu offerings from day to day.

Brilliant!

Bought this for my parents for Christmas and they loved it! They couldn't fault it and said they will definitely be back. Food was lovely, service was brilliant and the rooms were very nice.

Lovely well presented hotel

We stayed for a weekend to enjoy the surrounding area and this little gem made the weekend even better. The weather was awful but the hotel was warm and welcoming. The decor in public rooms are beautifully presented with a log burner in the main lounge which was lit on the Saturday evening . The restaurant staff were particularly welcoming, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The bedroom was clean and warm having occasions room meant we had complimentary wine and water replaced each day, robes and slippers with a view across the lake. The swimming pool is small and was busy on the Saturday, there is a sauna and steam room again busy the changing room was quite wet so it made changing difficult other than that it was a good stay. It is at the top of a very steep hill which gives it the view. Might cause some problems for some people. Its close to Windermere about 20 25 mins walk down with all the facilities that Windermere has to offer. We would definitely stay here again.

Stunning views and warm welcome

A lovely place to stay with stunning views of the mountains and the lake. Convenient for Windermere and Bowness. Short walk to access the lake steamers. Hotel staff very friendly adn service in the restaurant good.
Nice small pool with sauna and steam room alongside.

Excellent service, accommodation, food and location

I cannot fault our stay at the Hillthwaite. The staff provided excellent service and were so friendly, the food was amazing, the location is ideal and the views are brilliant. Our room was lovely, we stayed in a Classic room, bed and furnishings so comfortable and praise to the lady who kept our room spotless. We will definitely return to the Hillthwaithe.
