Relaxing break in a stunning location

We enjoyed a 2 night break at the Borrowdale Gates hotel which has stunning views of the surrounding Fells from the lounge, restaurant and gardens. Meals were excellent the staff are very welcoming and service is first class. We booked a deluxe room and on arrival were allocated a family room. with an adjacent twin bedded space but it was very disappointing that the branches of a very tall tree obscured the view from the balcony! Overall, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

A Wonderful Two- Night stay in Borrowdale

We enjoyed our short stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We unreservedly recommend this hotel to all who may be considering staying there. Moreover, the process of booking through OPL was simple, efficient and pleasant.

Great Break

We were looking for a short break in a quieter location in The Lake District and this hotel certainly met the brief. The whole experience was fabulous, from location to room to food to staff. If you want to be in the middle of everything that s going on and be surrounded by people this hotel isn t for you but if you want a relaxing break in a wonderful location with great food available try here. We will certainly be visiting again!

Short August break

Excellent hotel. Nice room but it was very warm (22) so window was open all the time. Staff were friendly and food was excellent. Situation was pleasant but only place to walk to was Grange village unless you were a hiker/climber. Overall a very nice break.

Welcoming Hotel

Staff from start to finish were above and beyond. Very very helpful and informative.

We were delighted with the quality of our stay.
The restaurant especially appealed to us and did not disappoint.
