Beautiful Borrowdale

Borrowdale Gates is a wonderful hotel, ideal for a special occasion such as ours. It is set in scenic grounds with delightful views to the fells. Peace and birdsong reign supreme. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the public areas spacious, comfortable and, again, with amazing views.The staff are knowledgeable, efficient but, above all, friendly. The restaurant and cuisine is excellent in all respects. Compliments to the chef and his team. Many thanks to everyone. We would love ro revisit Borrowdale Gates.

A treat to have stayed in this lovely place

1'st time in the Lakes and I don't think we could have found a better place to stay. Wonderful location and the staff were just lovely and very professional. Very clean and the food is outstanding.

Exceptional holiday

I stayed with three friends and the whole experience was above our expectations. We had two rooms
and one (garden room) was exceptional. Staff were so helpful, they couldn't do enough for us. The
food compared favourably with any Michelin starred restaurant (I should think!).
I can't speak too highly of it.

Wonderful stay

Chose this hotel for a short break because of location and reviews. Certainly lived up to expectations. Staff all very professional, welcoming and helpful. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Will certainly return in the future

We have stayed at the Borrowdale Gates now for many years and wouldn t stay anywhere else in the Lake District. We love everything about it. This stay was the first for us since the updating of the hotel and we are pleased to say it has blended well with the original design of the building. It has retained the wonderful feeling of peace and relaxation amid the stunning views from all windows. The food is excellent and we have never had a disappointing meal. I would highly recommend The Borrowdale Gates for a peaceful retreat with great opportunities for walking.
